Introducing MLCF

MLCF engages community members through its Family Services and Community Outreach and Education programs. Services are provided in different languages by multi-lingual and culturally competent staff. Through several partnerships, we offer a series of citizenship preparation workshops in different South Florida neighborhoods, as well as immigration clinics, citizenship filing days, legal consultations, and assistance with applications for naturalization, family petitions, and adjustment of status. We are also able to offer breast health services, domestic violehnce services, parenting education, adult ESOL, and tutoring services.

Our Special Services

Our informational and educational programs include: Adult ESOL Classes: offer immigrant parents the opportunity to acquire basic English language skills in order to more actively participate in their children’s education, advocate on behalf of their families, and prepare for citizenship and civic participation.

Civics Classes: prepare participants for the citizenship interview and encourage their civic participation in their local communities.

Legal Access and Citizenship Filing Clinics: make available legal consultations with pro bono bilingual attorneys on naturalization, family petitions, and adjustment of legal status.

Parenting Education Classes: provided by a multilingual, culturally-competent facilitator, with a focus on child rearing practices and bridging the gap between traditional parenting methods and American laws and cultural expectations.
